"This class is not recommended for Beginners" *Makes a Druid and I'm a Beginner* What did you say?

Goldfish

Downsides:
- Abysmal HP
- Goes splat on rocks
- Cannot survive if it doesn't land in the water
- Probably won't survive even if it lands in the water from 1000 feet

Upsides:
- It'll be hilarious when all of that happens...

That Feeblemind against THAT dragon was probably the most karmic defeat in the entire campaign and probably my favourite Keyleth's moment

My first character is a druid tiefling named Flourish. It is overwhelming having so many spells. I ended up having to make cards for my favorites. Then I end up having to take an extra couple of minutes to prepare and pick which ones I'm going to use.

Also, Circle of Dreams (not in the handbook, but is an official circle) is really good if you want to be a healer druid. Balm of the Summer Court is awesome.

Flourish is still alive because she's good at running away and not jumping off cliffs.

So happy you mentioned Faerie Fire. I know a lot of new druids that completely overlook that spell and it's MASSIVELY useful in every tier. It gives everyone advantage and STOPS INVISIBILITY!!! Such a powerful and useful spell. Overall, I think the character quick builds are really starting to hit that sweet spot you guys have mentioned you're aiming for. They give good, understandable overviews of the beginning levels of the classes without getting too complicated. Good job!

Tip for people intimidated by druids: D&D Beyond just added creatures to the character sheet, so it's a lot easier to manage beast shapes. I find it's pretty simple to choose spells, too.

I've finally found a group of people to play D&D with for the first time, and had my heart set on Druid(I love me some elemental magic). Everyone said not to pick druid as my first character, but I went ahead with it anyways, and it is VERY difficult, but still so awesome

Ironic this comes up, like, the day after I consider rolling up a halfling druid just for the sheer OMGWTF on enemy faces as a tiny knee-high girl turns into a gigantic quarter-ton bear...

And Nila can Call Lightning. Again and again and over and over and over again.

Keyleth earned her overpowered tank status at Level 20: Unlimited Wild Shape Elementals = a few hundred more buffer HP per turn. That was lovely to see in action.

I was heavily persuaded by my dm to make a druid after my wizard died... one word that wrecked my life: CONCENTRATION! It's easier to keep track of what's not concentration than what is because about 90% of your spells require it. Another thing that wrecked my life... casting times. About a third of druid spells take a minute or more to cast, making them useless in combat.

My point is that druids are super harder to play than most people think. And if you ever give a druid any flack without having tried to play one... go take a cliff dive!!!

"Cliff Dive" ... that comment was ... godlike.

Honestly- I was very overwhelmed by the druid when I started with her. But I've also learned twice as much thanks to her. And honestly, I wouldn't have it any other way. The class fit my character like a glove and I've loved the roleplay I have been able to pull of with it.

This is the first quick build that actually suggested... a build. All the others are basically just reading the players handbook to you, glad to see a change here
