Every time I use by S5, I'm always amazed by the quality - and how easy the camera is to use. Unlike a lot of the more expensive competition, it's also nice having a camera where overheating just isn't an issue at all. What use is amazing autofocus if your camera overheats and turns off?

Of course lumix S5 is the best. But people don't vote for the best. They vite for the well advertised. Panasonic 's marketing is absent. If Panasonic knew what marketing is, they could have eliminate the competition. (proud owner of 8!Lumix cameras here. Never looked back)

Having owned an S5 and now owner of S1 for almost 2 years, I confirm that these S series of cameras are insanely underrated. Everyone keeps looking for specs like in the a7siii & R5 but in the end, what really matters is how much you love shooting with it and if it helps you tell your story. Every time I import footage after a shoot I'm always BLOWN AWAY by the quality of the images I captured!

I love my S5. Adding on to your list.
1. 5.9k raw if you record external. I'm using a video assist recording BRAW.
2.Shutter angle
3. Lut support in Vlog
4. False colors (by lut in vlog)
5. Wave form

well I know the S5 is a beast, I've used plenty of camera models and brands such as the A7SIII, its fantastic, but I keep coming to Lumix, my main video cameras are my GH6 (which battled with the S5 to see which one I was buying) and my G9, and I love them! but I'm still looking to add an S5 to my gear, mainly to replace my FF canon RP, as a whole, Lumix is the best brand TBH, ever camera has it's strengths and weaknesses but just imagine if Panasonic added a Hybrid Sony level autofocus? Lumix would be king of the Market, no doubt, great video man !

To me, the greatest thing is that it's really good in both video and photography. Its really balanced in that way. They are also giving away the 50mm lenses at least in Europe atm

I purchased the S5 when it was first released. I have the Sigma 14-24 DGDN, 150-600 DGDN and the 105 DGDN. I love it. The only negative to it is that the Constant Preview in low light has terrible latency issues.

I have not looked back since getting the S5. I stuck with Panasonic afer using the GH 3 and GH 4 for years and learning a new system does not interest me. So when I decided to go full frame the S5 was a no brainer. I do a far bit of nature photography and landscapes as a hobby these days after my former life as a television ENG/EFP camera operator and I am very happy with my collection of Panasonic and Sigma wide and telephoto lenses. I am happy I did not go Nikon, Canon, or Sony full frame. If you have worked with the GH series of cameras it will be a seamless move into Panasonic full frame. Great video btw. For what it's worth! Have been a G85 user for 5 years seriously considering the S5 as an upgrade for it's video features and most importantly it's probably the best bargain for a full frame camera! The auto focus for me is not a big deal as I mostly use manual focus and what I love about Panasonic is the consistent firmware updates and how they continually support their older cameras even the G85 which is probably 6 or 7 years old now since it's first release! My G85 just keeps getting better even the auto focus with every new firmware update and I know the S5 will have that same support.

Great review, thank you.
I'm looking at ALL the possible reviews, because I would like to buy this camera so much, but I heard the autofocus is not top notch, compared to other major names.
My alternative is the Canon r6, which has a GODLY autofocus ahah

Great video like always.
I purchase my S5 two month ago.
Love it and it is nowdays my A camera above Gh5, 5s BMPCC4K 6K actually with video assist and Braw it is great to mix with Black Magic vidéo camera.
I see you went all S5 for multicam...I lack The money but probably it is The Best value money full frame you can get an no problem matching.
I have multicam with bmpcc 4K 6k S5 which are great.
Thanks for the video
And I missed in EU the combo promotion with S5 but I had a great deal with 20-60 1100us

Having used Panasonic GH cameras for the past ten years or so, the S5 is a freaking revelation for video quality. Even profiles like Natural, Cinelike D2 and Cinelike V2 are improved over anything that the GH4 or G9 could produce. Add 10bit 422 4k to this, and the potential for colour grading is immense. Interesting that you say the video quality is as good as the Sony FX3: it dampens the desire for a FX3 because the image quality won't be noticeably better; and two, if I'm not producing something that looks as good as what someone else is making with the FX3, then the bottleneck is in my skills, not the camera. As for still image quality, it is more than enough for work like events and portraits, as well as general street and family photography. With some vintage lenses, the images can be really organic, too.

Hello brother from down under. I just picked up the S5 this weekend and I am kicking myself for not doing it sooner! I got the GH6 when it finally came out thinking it was the way to go. The S5 is king now and the GH6 is still great for many things but the S5 and my Rokinon Cine DS lens kit RULE! I have been watching your videos for a while and always enjoy them and learn a lot because you have great delivery and meaningful content! You are absolutely right bout seeing the difference between the GH5s and the S5! It's got a similar but different look and feel to the GH series but raises the production bar to where the M43 will never get over! The low light capabilities of the S5 blew me away! Low light has always been tricky and I just never could with the G9 and the GH5. Not well anyway and the GH5s is fantastic but still nowhere close to the S5. I am so glad I made the decision to get the S5 now I just have to figure out how in the hell to the wife and survive!

I love my S5 +20mm kit lens!
But being able to adapt my legacy Nikkor glass makes it even more versatile.
The legendary Nikkor 105mm f2.5 is a sweet combo for still and video.
Today I get my SIRUI S35 Anamorphic, so looking forward to that!
Always enjoy your content, sweet model too 👍

The thing pretty much all reviewers forget about this camera; I've been looking through the catalogue of lenses for this camera on my local camera store. So the body itself is cheaper than all the competitors, but Panasonic L-mount lenses are by far much more expensive than the equivalent lenses from Canon, Sony and Nikon. There is also much less lens option to choose from with the S5

I had pretty much decided for the Lumix S5 for my next system, but realizing that while the initial purchase of camera will be lower with the S5, buying all that glass will be more expensive, not only because of the things mentioned above, but because the other brands therefore have a much larger availability of second hand lenses.

I owe this camera and use it for travel video and documentary project. The IBIS and low light capability is awesome!
