Hey Peeps! I really love how the butterick dress has turned out 😍. I wouldn't have chosen this fabric myself but it's made a really pretty dress that I will definitely enjoy wearing. I'll be doing a full review of my Sew Vintage Fabulous box experience very soon.

Add the bow to a wicker bag when you wear the dress 🌻

The 5748 is one of the most beautiful dresses on you! The style suits you to a perfect T as does the colour! I think this should be at least another 5 dresses! I say no to the bow! You could always add it to a hair band but I do like the suggestion of adding it to a natural raffia summer bag.

Love the bow on the front! Its there but not in your face. A subtle addition.

The 5748 Butterick dress does look good with or without the bow. If it was my dress I would sew it on.

You could perhaps try the bow on a belt, but I do like the dress unadorned.😃 I do remember my Mum making a dress with a similar notch in the front, I think it was before I started school so it would have been late 1950s. I think I can remember nearly all of my mother's going out frocks. I have always been fascinated with fabrics.

Love your dress. The pattern envelope does not do it justice. 💜🇦🇺

The butterfly dress is lovely, definitely no bow! I think the 'loose' fit feel is a combination of the lower back and the notch front. It's a very comfortable dress to wear. You can wear a showstopper dress anytime you want!

Love love love that dress, one of my favorite dresses you’ve made so far . I agree add the bow to a purse 👜

Such a great dress. The bow would look nice on a white button down blouse

Definitely the maxi dress with the chiffon and mid calf length with the viscose 💚💚💚

The dress is perfect as is . . . No bow needed. Consider saving the bow to attach to a clutch bag?

Could you possibly make the bow into a headband? That would be cute with a vintage dress.

Hi Siân!! McCall’s 5748 style looks phenomenal on you.. Even the fabric is perfect choice.. Absolutely no to the bow, maybe as an accessory….

Just hopping back in; wanted to say that you can test the pattern alteration you want to do on the muslin of your trousers. Just use it to find how much you need where. Slash the fabric like you would the pattern and add fabric like you would paper. Get as much information as you can out of each sample before returning to the paper. Saves time and makes it less of a trial and error process. 😽💕

Love the dress no bow but I think a thick belt made in the same fabric would be fab 😜💕

What a pretty dress. It looks beautiful on you. The bow is pretty. If you aren’t comfortable wearing it on the dress, then add it to a handbag.

You could add the bow to a scrunchie or maybe even a headband... but yeah no bow to the dress. I love that butterfly dress!!

I love your new make on you. The lower neckline is really nice on you and the back, wow.. totally gorgeous .. Definitely make more for summer.. I am.not a bow person but thought the front bow look good considering it was a vintage sew.. plus it did not stick right put.. well done.
