In Season 3 of Penny Dreadful, Vanessa Ives (Eva Green) accepting her demons could exact a terrible cost and plunge the world into darkness, while Ethan Chandler (Josh Hartnett), Dr. Frankenstein (Harry Treadaway), Dorian Gray (Reeve Carney), Sir Malcolm (Timothy Dalton), the Creature, and Lily (Billie Piper) must each face their own monstrous selves.

Rory Kinnear portrayal of The Creature was fantastic. He made feel such sadness that my heart broke for him. I got scared when he got mad, or when he killed people except for the family who trapped him in a cage at the wax museum. They deserved it.

Wow.   I'm still processing this episode - Rory is outstanding in it.   He says so much with his facial expressions, not to mention his words.   I was sure he was going to find happiness with his family, I hope he does.   They will be glad to see him, much like a returning war veteran!  So much mystery in this one, what is the connection with Vanessa?   Can't wait for the next episode.   Wow.

Proteus had a wife too... he suddenly remembered he had a wife called 'Doreen' (and realized he wanted more than 10 friends) before Caliban literally ripped him in half, and Brona had Ethan before Caliban forced Victor to reanimate her corpse. :(

Seeing as though Proteus was probably a sailor on a ship, and Caliban lived near a dock full of ships... maybe Proteus and Caliban knew each other/were friends before Victor reanimated them?

This storyline... you just know something will go horribly wrong. Either the family won't accept him out of superstition, or it will be revealed that they themselves played some part in his death, or that he used to be an evil person, or he will wait so long to reveal himself that the child will die, since he looks sick.

And here I am, hoping none of that happens because this guy needs a happy moment.

Delighted that they chose Pandora Colin for the role of John Clare's wife!--she who is Rory Kinnear's Partner in real life. This suggests perhaps a better familial outcome for The Creature in Penny Dreadful than in Mary Shelley's Frankenstein. And "the white room without day or night"? Will Vanessa realize the zoological museum fills the bill?

If history tells us anything, this possibility off happiness *will* go south, but in a really poetic, beautifully written way xD

(Or maybe I'm wrong and the twist is that he'll live happily ever after, serving as a guardian to his family through generations... Naaahh)
