We take the new EGO chainsaw out to our tree guy. We also revisit some EGO products we gave him 2 years ago. Remember EGO is designed for residential not commercial. let's see how it held up.

I just bought one yesterday, and I don’t even NEED it. I just LOVE my EGO string trimmer, blower and hedge trimmers so much, I decided to get the chainsaw, to look pretty with my collection. ;-)

Love my Ego self propelled lawnmower and my Ego line trimmer with automatic line loading so today I bought the 18 inch chainsaw and plan to start using tomorrow, July 16, 2020! I’m greatly encouraged by your video!

The 16" is a consumer/ home owner saw. If you will check the specs on the 18"; power, 5 Ah battery, rpms (11, 000), plus the full-size and full thickness 18" Oregon bar and chain, it is actually a farm and ranch saw if not a small comercial saw. I have done some tree wok working with a pro and the 18" is perfect for working up in the tree and also for limbing on the ground. Paul from Texas

works great on horizontal cuts. I am in the middle of taking down 30" pine tree and it over heats the batteries really fast with any binding... I wish there was a 24" bar for it!

worked with a guy doing land surveying who ran a chainsaw for years for the US Forest service, he liked the ego electric saw a lot too. We used it to cut lines for our traverses. Pack 4 batteries with us in the woods and run it on stuff too big for machetes and it would run all day. Same thing, other than sharpen it and add bar oil. They just go.

Just bought the 16” Ego today at Lowe’s. One of the best investment I made. Makes the gas chain saw the thing of the past.

Looks like a very nice chainsaw, I have the Milwaukee 16-in chainsaw very happy with it. Well come in handy this week with the hurricane in Florida.

Home Depot has dropped EGO and Lowe's has picked them up!
EGO is on another level compared to gas and other battery much power, no mixing or pouring gas and no pulling a cord to start the dang thing!!
I replaced my gas string trimmer with an EGO and went right back and replaced my gas blower and hedge trimmer as well they're THAT GOOD!!!
I'm so excited for their 2 stage SNOW BLOWER!!!

Hi guys. Love your stuff. I own an EGO weed whip. Have only had it for about 2 months. Bought it to replace a Husqvarna weed whip that was about 5 years old. Was a very good brand also but finally gave out. This EGO weed whip is amazing so I can only imagine what the chainsaw will be. I have a small lawn care business and use it everyday. Keep up the great reviews.

Just wanted to say, i work in an underground mine, the mine purchased 2 new egos to replace our plug in style chain saws. I remember seeing them and thinking how cheap they looked, and how much they would never work in our environment. You have to think, its wet, dirty as hell, and very very hard on tools. I could not have been more wrong. I just finished a timber project with an ego 14" saw, cutting 10X10's and 3" thick varies width boards. Even ripping some 10' long, 3" thick. I have to say, if that saw can survive what we, as underground miners, put any equipment through, and come out, just as good as it went in, I'm sold. We cut literally all day long, cycling between 3 different batteries. It never let us down. They charge fast enough that if you even have 2 batteries, you wont run dead, as long as one is charging. Its not constant cutting, but its steady, for 11 hours shifts, days and nights, so it basically ran 22 hours a day for a 2 weeks straight. They were even running their original little kid safety chains. and as long as its kept sharp, the battery lasts pretty good. I probably wouldn't go out and cut a load of firewood with one, simply because i wouldn't have anywhere to plug the charger into, but I really think they would be absolutely ideal for your offroad rig, ATV SXS etc. Even cutting camp wood, i would have no problem leaving the gas saw at home going camping and packing on of these instead. plus, you would never have to worry about getting your saw started. Just pull the trigger and cut...without ear protection.

Of coarse, they don't have the grunt, or the longevity of a plug in saw, and definitely don't carry a candle to an air powered saw as far as power goes, but the one thing they don't have is a cord, or stiff air hose. it allows you WAY more freedom. In a place where a gas powered saw would simply kill you, EGO is the go-to. Those poor plug in saws are just simply retired at this point.

I will be purchasing one for my jeep soon, as an easy, quick, tree remover. Cuz damn, I'm impressed.

I bought the Ego lawnmower a couple of years ago and I'm a believer - nothing beats that battery system! This past year I bought the 24" hedge trimmer and man, that's a beast! The balance is a bit off with the 5Ah lawnmower battery but it'll run all day...

Im a pro and have several different battery saws including 2 ego.. the one thing I hate about it is the chain tensioner sticks out way too far to get low cuts to the ground. Redesign the tensioner knob! I love the ego blowers we have and pole trimmer. It would be awesome if ego would make a top handle saw similar to the dewalt 20v but with the ego power and battery!

Ya know. My dad owned a tree service for 40 years. I literally grew up in it. This tree climber you used is the real deal. I’ve learned in that industry- people talk a big talk- this guy is little to no talk and all skill. From his gear he was using, to his technique. He’s the real deal. I will say this. I’ve NEVER seen a climber use a hard hat. Ever. I’d probably laugh at one if I saw it.

I’m awfully hard on tennis shoes and apparently chainsaws too. Is there a compatible bar for the ego 16” ?
Mixed reviews on Amazon. Some say Oregon 16” is and some say it isn’t. One says you gotta have the tension completely gone just to get the compatible chain on it. But that it works.
The bar that is recommended and comes with it, just blows. It’s not durable enough to get stuff done.

i was already sold on ego products, thanks to reviews like yours. Now i bought some products, the snowblower wth 2 7.5ah batteries, the backpack link and the 580 blower.
theres no snow yet so i cant say about the snowblower, but the leaf blower is just amazing, it performs beyond my expectations. With the backpack and a 7.5, the runtime and weight is better than any other blower i know of.
Its really amazing products, i will buy this 18inch chainsaw for sure.

I would like to see this saw compared to the Greenworks 80v.

My dad has a smaller version of this and he likes it a lot. We've got a Multi-head system also with a pole saw attachment. It's better with an extender.
