First Look: Claude Monet’s Enchanting Vision of Venice

Take a First Look at this spellbinding masterpiece painted by Claude Monet during his first and only encounter with Venice. Having remained in the same family collection since 1925, it presents a rare opportunity for collectors to acquire one of the greatest Monet works from this period. Monet animates the lagoon with wonderfully dappled brushstrokes whilst also bringing to life the façade of the building, which is softly diffused by light. ‘Le Palais Ducal’ from 1908 is a highlight of our upcoming Impressionist & Modern Art Evening Sale (26 February | London).
