Spotify blessed me with Sammy Rae a while back, but I didn't give her full discography until recently! I adore this song. Everything she write just feels so funky and fresh and genuine - if I could write music I wish it could be like hers.


No idea if you'll read this Ms. Rae, but please don't stop writing music! I'd love to hear a full album. I love this song because it feels so elated and fun but it makes me think about the trust needed in a relationship but then having to leave because you know its better for yourself. But it's not heartbreaking! I'll be listening to your EP over and over.

This was the first song I played as I left my exs house for the last time. We "mutually" broke it off, even though I told him it was one sided and he finally just told me he wasn't in love with me anymore. For months he kept pushing me away and I was almost begging for the affection I once had before, but he changed after many things happened. I gave it my all and he threw me away at any point he could, showing that he truly didn't care. For the last couple months of that relationship, I had become severely anxious and my depression was at an all time high. But I played this song on repeat telling myself I'm deserving of love and that relationship wasn't deserving of all the hurt I went through. I am doing better slowly, it's been couple months now and I've gotten so aware of my feelings and that I've gotten into baking and singing even more. I'm becoming the real me again and it's wonderful. Her music has had a step in me flourishing.

I also got tickets to see her concert next month and I'm so excited!
