We share with you how to DIY our family's favourite backpack. Cotton canvas is a great fabric alternative to nylon when making backpacks - no micro-plastics and so easy to repair! We hope you enjoy the video and let us know if you have any questions.

Just in case someone doesn't realize this - Don't sew waxed canvas, wax it afterwards instead.
The wax can pull on your thread and needle, causing the tension to be variable. Residue can also stick to your needle, feed dogs or pressure foot. To make canvas wax, simply melt 1 part bees wax to 9 parts paraffin and apply, then iron on med-low heat over a towel or fabric you don't mind getting wax onto, and iron out any excess. You can sew through waxed canvas but it's going to be hard on your machine.
