Knew about Ekali for a while because of Illenium, but never really listened to his music. Decided to listen to this album when I saw it was released and I can honestly say I’ve been sleeping on this man. Album is so damn good

Dont know why, when i listen to this i always imagine a videogame trailer. Like a noir-cyberpunk type of 2D game. Where at the beginning, we take a look at some sort of Tecno- New York. We see the streets, the monumentals and oppressive buildings, with all the life and luxury you could imagine. Then 00:30 our protagonist comes in. We never see him clearly, and he is always in the shadows. Silently moving from place to place. Seeking only God knows what. Then, he cross an obstacle of some sort, like some thugs. Or could be an ambush organized by someone with a lot of power. One who can change your life, only rising his hand. One of those you cant escape without showing who you truly are. Then 1:04 scenes alternate frantically with the music, showing violent fights and moral choices. Where you pratically shape the world the way you see it. And when the music slows down 1:36 so does the trailer. Showing almost pacific and melancholic cutscenes, with static images that slowly move and change. Where like the protagonist stand on top of a building looking at the skyline of the city embedded in the night and darkness, but full of distant lights. Or where we see the most poor alleyways of Tecno-York, full of improbable robot criminals, people hiding in the most desperate places. The real life that take place on this god forsaken world. Then 2:08 the title comes in. And you are left with toughts of lies, oppression, lost hope and a never ending search for freedom and aswers. Ending of the trailer 2:28.
Coming: only in my imagination, 2020.

Such a wild experience this song will gave if you listen through a speaker or headpiece that has extra bass. Everytime I played this through my Bose Soundsports, 03:22 always gave me the chills 🔥 thanks Ekali 👍🏻
