Icom 7300 Controlling Power Output Digital Modes

I've always been hesitant to control the power output solely via software using digital modes, but with the Icom 7300 and using Windows 10 I'm pretty confident this is the way to go. Others have been doing this and I'm just following in their footsteps.

Icom 7300
Power Output: 100%
USB MOD Level: 35%

All other settings are the same as in my other videos.

I'm using two cables, one CI-V and one USB. This allows me to use FSK and not MFSK. It also allows me to use CW and not MCW. So there are a couple of good reason to use two cables.

I hope you find this informative and useful. Best 73 and good DX. - Rich, K0PIR

I see you have a "PSK" icon displayed next to filter. How did you get that? Never seen it on my 7300.

I realize this is an old video and perhaps it's obsolete. But as you operate the slider and say what your power is and the ALC, I don't see where you are seeing those parameters anywhere on the screen. What am I missing? Perhaps you are looking at your rig but not showing it on the screen?. All is see is vvv. I have tried this method of power set with WSJT-X and the IC-7300. I have about 50% ALC on my IC-7300 meter when slider is all the way up 100% power, and I can get down to 25-30 watts using the slider only, but then there is 0% ALC. Am I on the right track?
