I don't think stealing from a supermarket is something you should do outside of Japan as well. A thief is a thief, no matter the nationality

So many of these are so positive, as a foreigner I'm more nervous for them than they are 😅

They have to prepare themselves for the 1M Logan Pauls that will travel to Japan from USA.

Nice video. By the way, lots of Japanese think that "oshare" ("fashionable") foreigners will come, but in actuality, the Japanese tend to be more "oshare" than anyone else. Expect T-shirts and shorts or jeans (for both men and women). It doesn't really get all that much more interesting than that.

One minute into the video, the wifi guy again. Bless his heart. I hope the coming wifi improvements that the Sayonara tax are supposed to pay for will be to his liking. This clearly really bugs him!

I just wrote my bachelors thesis on this exact topic! I interviewed Japanese people and wrote a 9000 word report and found a lot of the same points came up and were mentioned. My participants expressed concerns for overcrowding, language barriers and foreigners being unaware of the social rules/etiquette etc. But all my participants were positive and excited about seeing more foreigners in Japan 😊 Shame this video didn't come out earlier I could have referenced it 😉 haha

I do agree that foreigners should study, understand, and respect Japanese culture. But same goes for Japanese people. They should expect few problems and respect other countries culture. They should make efforts to make their stay more comfortable by adding English signboard, staffs who know English, etc.

My opinion.

I understand that some of them expect foreigners to learn japanese but as a german person, I have yet to meet a single tourist that can speak german. If you‘re going to live in Japan that‘s another story but as a tourist there should be no pressure for such things.

I hope a lot of the Olympic marketing outside of Japan involves reminding foreign visitors of the simple manners that they should uphold while in Japan. :) Like keeping everything clean and respecting a new place's rules, just like you would if you were a kid going to someone else's home! I think it'd really help. Especially if foreigners see how kind a lot of Japanese people are.

I'm coming to Tokyo in November and I'm petrified that I am going to frighten the locals. Big guy, covered in tats, white goatee, shaven head. I can just see women dragging their kids away from the bad man :)

Lmao the blonde girl’s logic is baffling. Does she really think waiting in line is an unknown concept to foreigners?

To accommodate foreigners they need to get more credit card processing in the shops and restaurants there. These foreigners are in for a rude awakening when they have already begun eating and then they find out "no credit cards:cash only!".

Too funny. The place where you did your intro, actually recognise where that is. Those green steps where a bliss for sore feet on a super busy day with no place to sit down.

Japanese people are so kind and welcoming <3 hope that I will be able to go to Japan in 2020 :D
Very looking forward to what Japanese will do to make more a tourist-friendly environment in these few years, but hope that they'll do it without changing the traditional image of Japan!

the other day I saw a spanish speaking tourist basically insulting the vendors at a crepe shop, while waiting in line, in spanish and honestly I really wish I would’ve told him off in spanish as well as I can speak the language, but then they would probably make an even bigger scene and act as the victim. if you’re going to visit a different country and culture, be respectful.

It's interesting that they think cutting in line, stealing and so are normal outside of Japan. Those things are a no in all the countries I've been to, with the difference that we would speak up if we saw something like that happen. I've never seen anybody cut in line in Spain or any other place, just in movies 😅, and in some places you get a number so you don't need to wait in line.
Stealing I think is obvious that you shouldn't do that, and I'm sure there is Japanese people like that, maybe not as much as in other places, but bad people are everywhere.
Language barrier is seen everywhere, a lot of people travel without having learnt any English at all, so the probability of having people speak your language in other countries is low. Of they've managed that way I don't think language barrier will be a problem for them 😄.
I would say, enjoy the Olympics and seize the opportunity to meet other people 😊

Again.. You should have a native speaker conducting such questions. Too much bias.
