Archive of Dynamic Arrays webinar.
This webinar demonstrates how to use dynamic array functions and their resulting spill ranges in your workbooks. What are dynamic arrays? We generally think of formulas as returning a single value. However, dynamic array functions return multiple values ... and when they do, the results spill out of the formula cell and into adjacent cells.
When a formula returns multiple values (an "array" of values), Excel places the first value into the formula cell (as expected) and the remaining results are placed into adjacent cells (the "spill range"). Each time the worksheet is recalculated, the size of the spill range dynamically adjusts to accommodate the number of results.
This capability opens many interesting possibilities and provides new ways to approach tasks.
NOTE: At the time of this webinar, Dynamic Array functions are only available in Excel for Windows 365 subscriptions.
