45 years ago, when I first heard this gaillarde, I think it was by Julian Bream, I decided that I would play it on the lute... it took me almost one year to build my first lute, then another year to learn to read tablature, then several years to try to play it properly. I have never reached, or even come close to, the quality of playing of Thomas - in fact Dowland's music sounds pleasant, fluid and almost easy when you listen to it, but it is in fact exceedingly difficult to play it at this level! So bravo!!! Love it !
