For a very long time now, football boot brands have been trying to convince us that the new technologies in their latest boots "will" help us perform better. Is it actually true though? Well, more often than not, these "performance enhancing" technologies do absolutely nothing! But is that the case for all football boot tech? Do any of them actually work?

In today's video I share the top 5 best football boot technologies that actually work! That's not to say that these will guarantee to improve your performance, but I do think that all of these boot technologies will have a very positive impact that could make a difference for you. Nike should create a technology that allows the soleplate of the mercurials to last more than a week without cracking.

Yes, i'm SALTY AF because i spent money on the mercs and had to ask for a refund a few months later (which i didn't want to)

I just wore the first gen of superfly’s during training after so many years. And I gotta say, that new zoom unit really makes the boot comfortable to wear. The old superflys gave me too much discomfort after I have been wearing the new Zoom Mercs for quite some time now 😅

One thing about the Nike Mercurial Elite AG, the sole plate broke in less than 6 months of use. Luckily, prodirect were kind of to refund me my money. Had to send my boots back ofcourse but both of the sole broke down.

Bear in mind that even in the Nike premier they have the anti clog soleplate. So you don’t have to spend over $200 to get in on your boots

I’m going to be honest, I don’t like the air zoom cushion all that much. It’s like trying to balance in a memory foam block every time you put them on which inevitably makes your feet cramp. Just personal opinion though

Anti Clog was genuinely revolutionary for me playing in Ireland (where it rains year round) refuse to get any boot without it now

What about the carbon fiber in the foot plate of the shoe?

Is there still a significant demand for soft ground boots? I only ask because the majority of clubs/ schools in my neck of the woods (NE USA) won't allow you to play on their grass fields when it's rainy/ muddy and the SG boots would be needed. My men's club has been forced to set up a backup AG pitch because we had a wet spring where we lost half our home matches. Wasn't sure if this was a thing elsewhere or not.

Anyone else with the Phantom GX feel like the grip part of the knit kind of wore off after months of play?

Anti-clog does work, but it used to add so much weight to the boots. Is that still the case?
