Admit it! You felt the same way about the 2023 Mitsubishi Outlander. Mitsubishi is like the new kid in school who you aren't sure if you should say hi to them. Well we are here to tell you, go say hi to that new kid because you may become best friends. The 2023 Mitsubishi Outlander is everything you have been needing in a SUV with the addition of a 3rd row offering room for 7. There is a lot to like about the 2023 Mitsubishi Outlander, and this week Brad and Jared want to focus on a few things to see if it really is that great. They look at the QUALITY of the Mitsubishi Outlander, the COST OF OWNERSHIP, and then tap into its RELIABILITY. These are three great areas to focus on when you might be new to a brand, much like Brad and Jared were. If you never considered the Mitsubishi Outlander before, we encourage you to watch this review. But, after it's all said and done, does the 2023 Mitsubishi Outlander get the "Hood Slap of Approval?" Check it out for yourself and see what you think.

***Thank you to Cambridge Mitsubishi for allowing us to review this 2023 Mitsubishi Outlander***

I drive almost all of the newer model SUV vehicles with my work. I do many hours of driving. The Mitsubishi is so far ahead of any other SUV. It’s so good I went and purchased one. So much to love about this SUV. Cost less to service than probably all of the other makes. 10 year full warranty. Fuel economy is incredible. And it’s made in Japan.

Many of those who never thought of mitsubishi as their next car to own.. now considers it because of you two. Then go watch scotty kilmers review of this vehicle and the next thing you know is you're already ordering one.

I own Mitsubishi since 90s, they aren’t new. This is better brand that Nissan, Honda, Toyota en others ❤

I have been a fan of Mitsubishi for awhile now and currently own a couple of them. They have been great vehicles for me and my family and have been absolutely reliable. They made some bad decisions in the 2000's and the whole economy taking a dump around 2008-2010 didn't help. The new outlander is proof Mitsubishi still has fight in them and proof that can build a quality vehicle. I am seeing a lot more new Outlanders on the road which is nice to see. Great video!

I got myself a 2023 SEL trim in the states and love it! For what you pay, you get way more than the competition. I love the fact that the rear door opens up almost a 90 degrees better that RAV 4. You won't regret it!

This video is the most honest, clear and concised review I found so far. This helped me see a different perspective on how I used to look at this car. Thank you.

I rock the 2024 Outlander SE Black Edition and OMG I never thought I'd like a Mitsubishi as much as I do. Comfortable. Quiet. 3rd row for small kids when needed. Lots of room. And it LOOKS GOOD!!!

Mitsubishi is equal or better then other Japanese brands, remember that Mitsubishi is a famous Air Force manufacturer.
A lot of innovative features. Follow dealer service intervals and happy snoozing.

I've an 03 Montero xls that keeps giving me pleasure to drive. When the time comes to purchase a new vehicle the Outlander is at the top of the list.

I had a 2008 Outlander with AWD - was probably the most amazing terrain system in a car I've ever experienced. I could drive in any weather condition and feel confident. I had my car for about 6 years - never had an issue (I traded it in for a more sporty car). Now that I'm older - this new model has truly piqued my interest. Thanks for a great review!!

*The PHEV version of this thing IS the best equipped vehicle to ever be sold in canada, (For its price and type, which last I checked was 42K, thats the important part)*

It has rally road racing Super all wheel drive, which is lifted strait from their rally cars. This makes it effectively a high speed off road vehicle. It can go head to head with a jeep and win. You REALLY notice this on snow and mud.
It can go like 60-100km depending on how you drive it on electricity.
It can get between 4.5L/100km to 8L/100km when its out of power, depending on how you drive it. If you drive it really well, you can just drive continuously at 4.5L/100km.
In the manual, it sais it can tow 10000 pounds, although it sais 2000 is a "safe" tow because of its braking.
It can go from 0 -60 in something around 7.2 seconds (Dont quote me on that, but its a cannonball)
It has 7 seats
Its base model comes with TWO 1500Watt outlets. In all other hybrids, they make you cut off your leg and give it to them for that. Thats in the base model.
Its base model comes with a 64amp chadmo that can be used to power your house. There are only 2 other cars that can do that. The Ford lightning, and the Nissan leaf. But the ford on requires special ford stuff. The chadmo for this will be here in the second quarter of this years term. Or you can just jimmy rig a ford one if you cant wait.
The thing truly sticks to the ground. All four wheels are independently controlled.
At high speeds, the engine stops generating electricity, and just connects to the ground directly through the front wheels. Then, any additional energy it makes goes to the back wheels as electrity and charges the battery. This is significantly more fuel efficient than running on electricity at high speeds. It allows the car to be efficient and powerful at every speed.
It is an Atkinson's engine, which means in eco mode it just runs at its most efficient gas to energy speed until you reach 110kmph, at which point it connects to the road. Yes Toyota has more fuel efficient engines. But their price and 5 year waiting time makes that irrelevant.
Its 20kwh battery qualifies for the full electric rebate
It strait crushes all other Hybrids on the market with the exception of the KIA Niro (Which is a minimalist hybrid that values space, and so makes its own independent case), and the RAV4 Prime (But youll never get one, and its only around 15% better at its core jobs. Missing all the other features).
It does not make sense to buy most electric cars against this price point and feature crowding.
Its one of the biggest electric drivien vehicles on the market. Its not tiny. Yet it gets the energy ratings of a tiny car.
Base model has car following

Some things its bad at:
If you want to drive in the winter time with just the battery, you cant turn on the fans. Turning on the fans turns on the engine, even though you dont need it. This means that you need to make a choice between not seeing out your windshield, or burning gasoline for no good reason. The overlooked that for sure.
It will not connect the engine to the road until your battery is out of power, and so will needlessly waste energy until that point. Its definatly a bug.

I think thats everything :P

You guys are hilarious 😂, thanks for this video, I’m test driving one on Monday, and never even considered a Mitsubishi until I accidentally saw one on the internet while looking for S.U.V’s, love the look, and the price compared to others in its class.

I bought the 2023 Mitsubishi Outlander SE. The back seats are made for small people, not the regular larger people. So with that in mind, being retired and rarely have anyone else but my Yorkie with me, pulling kayaks & the occasional utility trailer, this car is perfect for me. I traded my 2017 Outlander SEL for it. Got $15, 000 for it. Bringing the price of the 2023 down to $23, 000. I have yet to see how it runs in the rain or at night, but I'm sure that'll come soon enough. It's a great car for My Own use and gets me from point A to point B and back nicely. And if the rear seats bothers anyone, for those who design the next car, how about making the car another foot longer, giving the third row a little more room. Thanks for reading.

I love everything about my 2022 SEL have NO complaints. I needed a third row for the kids and didn't want a turbo or the start/stop technology that everything else has...I love the aggressive looking front end ! ! ! !
