Settlement reached in suit against Georgie Dept. of Labor

The department of labor is firing back after The Southern Poverty Law Center released a proposed settlement between the two parties.

I worked for DOL over twenty years ago and we never had enough employees because the pay is extremely low. Even then with a Masters Degree, the pay was only $22, 000, so they can’t keep any employees. Furthermore, don’t blame the DOL employees, blame your governor and your state congressional representatives who refused to hire people and pay them a decent salary. You get what you pay for. When you hear politicians say they are for small government, this is what they mean. They are not going to increase the salaries, so there won’t be enough employees to service the people.

These are all liesss they aren’t doing ANYTHING !! In Clayton county I applied back earlier this year and still haven’t heard anything made several trips to my “ career center “ and everything they were supposed to call they don’t call CLAYTON COUNTY DOESNT ANSWER THE CALLS THEY DONT EVEN HAVE PHONES RINGING IN THE OFFICE .. welcome to GEORGIA

It is a total lie that the Georgia Dept of Labor is completely caught up. I filed my appeal at the end of August last year and still haven't gotten a decision or heard a word from them on that. Yeah, as in 11 months ago and still no decision. The Dept of Labor sucks.

Where does the remainder of the money go if there is a balance left on your unemployment claim after finding a job.
The money doesnt roll over to the next time you may be unemployed.

Not true!!! My claim was denied due to a bogus document claim on last year! I sent the letters that was needed to approve my claim and have been told to certify weekly until me case is appealed. I do so every Saturday night after midnight and I’ve heard nothing! I don’t mean to be disrespectful at all however I had to use credit cards to live off of, move in with family finally got a position July of. 2021 making half of what I made and if why I was denied is correct, it’s an easy fix that I have provided documentation! This is our lives and I just want the opportunity to be heard!

I filed my claim on 11/04/2020 & still nothing today! I recently filed for the 3rd time on 07/01/2022 because my BYE Date was ending on 07/02/2024. This will also result in me having to file a 3rd appeal, just to keep my case open!
I have have continued to do weekly submissions with overestimating my weekly pay.
Every time I call GDOL, having to wait 2 or more hours, I’m told that they either can’t find my claims or appeals but when I give them dates and time of each & every claim & appeals, down to the exact time. All of a sudden, all of claims & appeals are found!!
Then I’m put on hold again, to be transferred to the appeals department & going through the same process above, having to give exact dates & times of each claim & appeal that was submitted. And once again, everything has beef located!
This was Friday afternoon, 07/01/2022. I asked the status of my appeal and am I any closer to a hearing date because my original claim was originated back on 11/04/2020? Yes, 2020!
I told that the appeals hearing is nowhere near the 2020 claims & appeals. What???
The GDOL Representative was unable to give an estimated date.
So, why is this guy in the video stating that the GDOL is caught up on claims?? Which a blatant lie!!
My claim is still sitting idle since 11/04/2022!! I’ve done my part & I have always continued to do the weekly claims every week and I haven’t missed a beat!!

The department of Labor is holding my unemployment benefit like i am their Goat and refuse to do what the court order and still have the State charging me taxes through them for 2020 unemployment benefit. NY Labor department set your record straight and do what the court say and pay me my benefit i am unemployed, As long i am unemployed you have the right to pay me unemployment benefit.

I am still waiting for my unemployment benefit from the time Labor introduce idme to over look fraud my benefit stopped and is more fraud happening. I have a court document from 2016 stating once you're unemployed and claiming benefits this will protect you. Labor department do your job. Labor I lie
