My friend who works w/ money for a living said they're doing it to give the cut by billions to themselves, even though almost NONE of them pays federal taxes (which is what the funding for Medicaid comes from); they put theirs in tax shelters so they don't have to pay fed taxes, then think they can say what the hell to do w/ money they haven't paid into since they started taking tax shelters.

Also, Bruce Springsteen's live acoustic cover of "Royals" is pretty righteous. He clearly had some real frustration with the current state of pop music, and how it glorifies wealth and decadence over the virtues of common people, his creative manifesto. But instead of griping about it, or writing his own diatribe against pop's materialism, he chose to express his anger via a subversive but still wildly popular song by a new, young artist, recognizing that talent is still in abundance and will occasionally find a mainstream audience. It's a fitting epilogue to the poetically just story of that song. And his fury in the chorus, as he rattles off all the shallow pop cliches, is palpable, especially the added F bomb the second time around.

Not sure if I should panic or not. I'm retired and am currently trying to get a new wheelchair. While Medicare is my secondary insurance the cost of a wheelchair is extremely high and even with the help of insurance I will have to cut my food budget to afford the chair as it is. While the DC politicians wrangle about this I'm wondering if I'm going to starve to get my chair, or have no way of getting food by not having the chair. To me, their political games scare the hell out of me since people like me don't matter enough to consider. I still say that no side is right... Right wing, left wing, the bird still needs two wings to fly and not argue over who's the better wing.
