incredible that kessler didn't choke on the last service game in her first final! shows incredible mental strength, well done to her!

Maia had so many opportunities for winners but she chose safe returns as if she was afraid to risk the down the line shot..her returns were like she was in practice play..just waiting for Kessler to mess up rather then take the winners. That is defensive not offensive game. Kessler was consistent and took the winner shots more...Maia does not trust her game and her shots..she needs to break out of that cycle and be fearless...

Coming from a set down to beat the #5 and #1 tourney seeds in back to back matches is an awesome achievement! And to do it to win your first WTA tour event is just incredible.
For Haddad Maia it’s a crushing loss but she has to regroup quickly to play in the US Open on Monday/Tuesday.
