The Trovita Orange is a widely adaptable thin skinned orange, which develops excellent flavor without the heat required by other varieties. This makes it an excellent choice for home gardeners. It can withstand temperatures from 50 to 100 degrees, but is not shade or salt tolerant.

One of my favorite varieties, the Trovita orange. This variety you harvest for a long period of time. I’ve picked them from late February up until Thanksgiving. The Trovita has no to few seeds but I think what’s amazing about this variety is the flavor. It’s absolutely just one of the best tasting oranges you can get. Even as early as it is in the season, I would put this up against any orange that you can get. As a matter of fact, here’s an orange, that if you’re going to try an orange in a marginal citrus zone for indoor/outdoor planting, this is the variety to try it with. It is a very, very adaptable variety. By the time March and April roll along, this variety is there and outstanding when other varieties are long gone. The Trovita orange.
