Star Trek Shattered Universe Remastered - Tyranny of Numbers

For a fun project I've set out to remaster the cutscenes from the classic PS2 game 'Star Trek Shattered Universe'. I enjoyed playing it, but enjoyed the cinematics even more. It had many winks to the original Star Trek series and I especially liked seeing Sulu as captain of the Excelsior.

Anyway, here is 'Tyranny of numbers'

I've used and altered them a bit from a fair use standpoint. If their rightfull owner also doesn't like that is used them, the video shall be taken down and the project discontinued.

Oh, all is rendered in real time in the Unity3D game engine.

When I was younger I was dying for this game. And it could NOT be found. I remember feeling so sad that I couldn't find it.
My MOM looked everywhere for it for me, without even telling me. She finally found a new copy somewhere out there, and I know it didn't mean near as much to her as it did to me.
Every time I think of this game, I think of how hard, and how much fun it was. But I also think of how much I truly love my Mom and everything she has ever done for me.

I think I need to go find her and give her a hug right now.

Noice. They always say the Excelsior is more powerful then a connie but its very rarely seen. All the vessels in this video are eye candy. Absolutely stunning.

I remember playing this game. It was on the PS2 I think. The M5 computer was a cool reference from the original series.

This is stunning. I LOVED Shattered Universe, it was one of the best Trek games I've ever played. I really hope to one day see a remaster of the game. If it looks like this video... 🥰

Had this on Xbox, God it was such a cool game, this alongside Armada kicked off my love for Star Trek, solidified by Legacy and Armada II

I like the warp effect - it even follows the Alcubierre method of how space in front of the ship would 'shrink'

I keep coming to rewatch this, and every time I discover a new detail!
Like how you added the firing of the maneuvering thrusters of Excelsior while retreating, the Phaser punching a hole on her shields after taking such a beating and the Phaser barrage illuminating both the firing ships and Excelsior's hull.

I still have a bit of trauma from playing this level in Shattered Universe... You have to destroy four Constellation-class starships with nothing but a shuttlecraft, and once you've desroyed all the enemies and just when you think the level is over, two Orion ships warp in, launch craploads of fighters, and attack. That was the hardest level in the game, and it was something like level four out of twenty-something. No other levels after that one got close to that kind of difficulty. If it weren't a Star Trek game, I probably would have given up.

I remember a good tactic for this level on harder difficulties:

1. Drain the shields of all 4 Connies. But be careful! Don't get into a crossfire or you'll get phasered pretty quickly.
2. Damage all the ships to about 2/3s or 1/2 of hull integrity. Damage one more, so you can destroy it quickly later.
3. Destroy the first ship. The other Connies will start moving after that.
4. The Connies circle around the Excelsior, passing each. Destroy the most damaged ship when the three ships are almost aligned. If timed correctly, the resulting explosion should take the other two along.

Love getting to see more than one Constitution-class ship on screen at the same time, even if they are the "bad guys" in this. Love the video.
