In this video, I'll show you 2 different methods to decrypted files or folders on Windows 10. Windows 10 pro comes with encrypting file system called Bitlocker. Bitlocker has replaced Encrypting File System (EFS).

In the first method, I'll show you how to use the file's properties in order to decrypt the file. If you've set up a password in encrypting the file, you'll need to re-enter the password to decrypt it.

In the 2nd method, I'll show you how to use command prompt to decrypt the file.
Command prompt code is
cipher /d "replace with your own file's address"

If in trying to decrypt a file or folder you receive permission errors, please following the following videos first

My files were created in windows 11 and I changed the windows from 11 to 10. After that my files which were in local disk came up with lock sign with them and can't open, it says "you do not have permission to open this file. See the owner of the file or an administrator to obtain permission" but I have tried to follow your tutorials but to no avail. What else can be done to fix this problem? please reply🙏🙏

Hi I need some help I encrypted some of my files on my laptop and then moved them to USB after some time I reinstalled window and now the files on USB are not opening could you help me in opening them, please
I moved the encrypted files to USB and then cleared everything from disk and reinstalled a new window and when logged in again from my Microsoft account on new window the files in USB were not opening and a massage was occurring that 'you could not access these file you do not have permission to open this file see the owner of the file to obtain permission'
I removed everything and then again downloaded windows and installed no backup windows

What if I changed the windows while the files inside were encrypted? What could I possibly do to decrypt the files in the newly installed windows?

I encrypted some of my files on my previous laptop just for trying this feature out!😂😂
My old laptop is now dead! Now that I got a new one, I took the hard drive from my old laptop and connected it to my new one with an enclosure! But I can't get access to those encrypted files anymore! LOL
All because of me trying to just test a feature out for fun! Lesson learned! LMAO
Luckily, I didn't encrypt all of them!

So your saying if someone sends me an encrypted file I can use this to unencrypt it even though it was not encrypted on my computer? Seems like that would not work for sending a secure file if anyone with windows 10 pro can do this. I think this Video is very misleading as this doesn't work so there is no point to the video because everyone who wants to encrypt a file needs to move that securely
