I lived in Tokyo for 15 years, my second home, then I moved back to Scotland. The buses are late, trains are late, interviews are late, cant get a taxi and now I am on happy pills from the doctor. Word of advice don't leave Japan as you get used to the convenience and efficiency and nothing compares. Plus people are polite, not pessimistic and downtrodden.

Japanese electronics retail stores are not places to negotiate discounts. Most people on the sales floor are temporary employees hired by the manufacturer for promotion, not by stores, and have no discretion for discounts. Since the store's tenant and labor costs are included in the price, discounts based on the Amazon site are impossible. (Unless you are buying several costly items in a bundle.) People who want to buy at the lowest price usually buy online, and electronics retailers do not target such people.

Muji would do so well in Denmark. That simplistic design has such a Scandinavian vibe to me.

Loving these videos so much. It reminds me of Tokidoki. Its low-fi videos, everyday life on a budget and having fun. As a fellow Australian, hope she goes viral up.

Uniqlo is also a good place if you need extended sizes in Japan! One of the few places to carry them especially for such a reasonable price, although you usually have to order online.

That Uniqlo self-checkout item sensor is super cool. Great vlog!

Uniqlo is great…. But GU…. GU hits different. When I was working in Japan for 4 months I was stoked for Uniqlo, but it was GU that saved me from shirts, to the perfect small crossbody bag, to the Yugioh collab sweater!

The texture and color of those slippers reminds me of a kids pull-up with the designs on them

The Yodobashi in Akihabara is even better. Always hit that place every trip. I've bought several head and earphones there and love that you can try them out first.

1:32 "I'm here to buy headphones, don't know which floor they're on"

While standing infront of headphones😂 Yes I know they're just the gaming headphones, but was still funny

We have one Muji in NYC and it's just okay. They have mostly stationary, kitchenware and some clothes. The food section is actually just 8 snacks they offer when you're in line for the cashier. I went to the Muji near Shibuya Square and they had 6 floors worth of stuff. The retort food section is probably the coolest area with like 20 different types of curry to choose from.
