I really love this band. Like many fans, I've been wondering for quite a while what exactly has been going on with CHON? I did my research and think I've figured it out. #chon #progressiverock #guitarmusic

When you realize the last three songs on their self titled album are, “Dead End” “Thanks” “Peace”. We should have known what was coming.

I miss Chon… Some of the most amazing music that’s ever touched my ears. Hope to hear a new project from them soon!!

With a band who came up with them, Polyphia becoming as successful recently with their signature "Trap Prog" sound it does really makes you wonder where Chon would be today considering they were just as big before they left the music scene.

As a fan, I miss CHON - but as a musician, I can't help but support them taking the time they need - even if it means CHON as a band goes the way of the vapor! Uninspired music is a disservice to the band and the fans: if and when the heart of CHON returns, we will see some amazing music from the guys again, and if the heart doesn't return, no one benefits from what would be merely forced music.

Chon has revolutionized the way I play guitar. I don't think there's anyone who quite sounds like them. Polyphia come close, but they don't give me the same emotional payoff

Waterslide is one of the best instrumental songs that transcends different genres ever written by anyone

I'm glad they're paying attention to their health. Whenever new music comes out, as a band or not, I'll be there.

According to spotify, chon released a new song in 2023. But it is a rap song in spanish with a guitar loop playing 😂

Dude 2008 Demo is the fkn greatest. I got into Chon with Newborn Sun, particularly Bubble Dream. Highly recommend a thorough listen

Chon is so great. Their music is truly inspiring and even if they all decide to never release anything again I am grateful for the amazing music they have already put out there.

2008 demo was crazy good, but the self titled is my favorite work. Thanks for this video that summarizes their work very well. If they don’t come back, I’m ok with Grow, Homey, and Chon as their body of work for the long run. “Visit” and “Dead End” being particularly special. Again, thank you, and thanks to Chon!

Man!! Crazy how they created a new style and everybody ran with it. Haven't heard an original sound like chon until years after they dropped 🔥

Erik just now has realized a story on instagram explaining that chon broke up before the pandemics because they got tired

Really blessed these young guys are on the break! My son and I started seeing them on their first ever tour (If you want to call it a tour). I met the parents at the small show (Mario and brothers). Nice family. As a So Cal kid playing so much guitar myself, it was a joy to finally put it down for a bit. Constant playing and competitions were tiering for me. I bet they too got so busy with playing and playing they missed on on so many other things in life as young men. The constant music culture not for everyone. I respect my friends that have done it their entire lives! It's quite a life! Different for sure. Talking to Mario over the early years of Chon coming out to my area, I always thought they were just wonderful young men and they wouldn't always be doing the Chon thing. Mucho talent, and with that talent comes a variety of musical opportunities. I am thankful for the wonderful memories of seeing Chon in small rooms in very meek environments with very few people. They are the music makers! Thanks Chon for the beautiful tunes! Beau in AZ! The older guy who was at the shows! haha

I love and miss CHON so much. I moshed at the their shows in Madison Wisconsin and Chicago House of Blues and it will always be some of the best moments of my life. CHON moshers go hard but also are so nice, when you fall there are 3 to 4 people there to help you up. Such free spirited intense rockin good vibes. Hopefully one day their passion for live shows is reignited.

I know it frustrating as a fan. Watching Polyphia getting all the credit chon should be getting for the genre right now.

Unfortunately, it was confirmed earlier this year via Ericks ig that they officially disbanded. RIP Chon 2008-2024

I’m deeply grateful for Chon and the four incredible albums they gifted us. It seems they’ve moved on to new paths, and while the "rockstar" life may not have been their true calling, they made their mark in a saturated industry. Their music was unique and innovative, standing out in a sea of noise. I'm glad they chose to retire on their own terms, avoiding the trap of clinging to relevance until they faded into obscurity. They had their moment, embraced it, and then moved forward, staying true to themselves until the very end.

Too many bands try to hold on for too long. Incubus, for example, made incredible music, but after Light Grenades, I find myself cringing whenever I hear their newer material. Not everything is beautiful because it lasts; sometimes it’s about knowing when to step away.

I’ll always cherish the memories Chon gave us, and I respect that they knew when to call it quits—something many bands fail to understand. I wish them nothing but success in whatever they pursue next.
