EN/ I tried to put one shojo per year when it was possible. So it's normal if there is not everything. I also made a more complete version afterwards, which you can find.

For the choice of anime, I chose to take what are adapted from a shojo manga or which have had adaptations in shojo manga magazines. Since, "anime shojo" doesn't really exist by definition.

Hi everyone, my complet shojo video came out after copyright complications for over a year. There are some small error that I can't change because the file is lost but I did my best.

The fact that I watched all these says a lot. I wish they return to making animes with this style like Cardcaptor Sakura and sailor moon and such. Miss this kind of animes

Surprised Ouran High School Host Club wasn't included. The fans are still waiting for their season 2.
Seriously, OHSHC needs and deserves a reboot.

The older romance animes from the 1990s-2000s are *the best* imo, and progressively aren't _so good._ Not saying the future ones are bad, but-
Classics are just 💋👌✨always in the heart.

2000’s was the best, I feel like shoujo is slowly declining and I miss the good old days with legendary stories like kimi ni todoke and maid-sama 😭

Shoujo anime:

Before 2000- magical girls

After 2000- school life

Omg you added Gakuen Alice. I am still obsessed. The manga got really dark at the end. Y'all should definitely read it!😍

Candy Candy has a soft spot in my heart, as well as my mom's. The story holds up surprisingly well even if the animation itself is noticeably dated. A reboot would be really nice if they stayed faithful to the original story.

Is it just my impression or older anime were actually more progressive than contemporary?

Really wish we could go back to the amazing shojo era. We barely get one or two shojo anime in a year now but i feel like the newer announcements look really promising

During that time since the 1970's and to 1980's most shoujo anime are only popular in thailand, philippines and in south korea because these were the only countries in asia aside japan where people accept female characters as heroes in an animated tv show.

I never really had the chance to watch a lot of them in my childhood due to parenting and family situations. I'm an adult now and watching everyone's "nostalgia" show like Sailor Moon feels different. Still enjoyable, but no memory.

Kimi Ni Todoke being the only entertainment to have portrayed what pure and real love is🥺

Toute mon enfance la dedans ! Merci beaucoup pour votre vidéo. YouTube en manquait cruellement. Vive la TV française qui nous a permis de découvrir tout ça ><

Wow, Mitsuko Horie sure sang lots of openings! She was the JP version of Claude Lombart!
I recognized like 90% of these animes, except for the oldest!

I remember back in the old days where I used to watch animes like this over and over again even though I've already finished it, the first shoujo I've watched was Fruits Basket, I guess that was what kept me addicted from the others like Kimi ni todoke, kaichou wa maid sama, the wall rose, bokura ga ITA and many more ☺️
