DIY Hardcover Composition Notebook | Sea Lemon

In this tutorial, I'll show you how to add hardcovers to a composition notebook. This can also work on spiral notebooks!

Supplies:
• Composition notebook
• Cardstock paper
• Pencil
• Ruler
• Utility/craft blade
• Craft glue (Made for paper. Mod Podge or PVA works) or extra strength glue stick
• Glue brush (if needed)
• Scissors
• Bone folder (optional)
• Scrap paper, wax paper (if needed)
• Weights (heavy books work)

After I watched a couple of your videos about book making, I made a sketchbook for my friend, but ended up using it myself because I love it so much lol 
My cover was a bit uneven and the paper I covered my board with got wrinkled and warped like you mentioned in this video, but I think my next try will turn out much better.

This would make a cute journal! Journals are so expensive but this way you could make what ever you want!

I like the methods you describe to complete this project, it has given me lots of ideas.

I have decorated for these for some of my students (to encourage using them).

What I describe takes little time, but does require sheets of wax paper while pressing to dry flat.

I dilute elmers glue with water, and using a wide brush, glued various color comics to the entire cover and the spine. Overlapping each, using odd angles, just trying to make it fun, and wrapping over edges to the inside. I don't worry about the edges. The glue dries completely clear. I glued some six years ago, and they still look great.

By the way.... I followed exactly the same technique when decorating my spiral notebook's covers, a couple of weeks ago. I loosened the spiral, removed the covers and did exactly what's shown on your video. Even that multiple-cut-rounded-corner trick! It's all Déjà vu for me :P

To answer you're question, Redfox, a composition notebook are those books you see in stores, in the school supply section. The books say composition notebook on them. Basically, a book to write in, or compose thoughts, hence the name, composition notebook.
