Point in case for the million dollars not being a lot of money for a company:

I do IT for a small/medium sized Primary Care Providers office (two locations, roughly 15 assorted docs, plus assistants, nurses, clerks, management, etc.).

Payroll is usually over $350k per month.
Thats JUST payroll - they have many other costs on top of payroll to account for (rent, insurance, IT support, etc.)

I can easily see how a company of 50 people could surpass needing a million dollars per month to operate
