I am not religious in any way, but absolutely recognize the need to embrace a power beyond ourselves. A cohesive society cannot be, when there is no foundation in which to provide a moral framework to govern that society.

i dont need religion to tell me that slavery or other human suffering is wrong. It makes me very sad and I want it to stop. Plain and simple. Its empath, its caring for others like your parents taught you extended out to the world around you.

morals don't come from religion. They come from our being wired to work as a group, a community. We realize that we need to treat each other well because we are hurting the group, and ourselves at the same time.
Religion just co-oped these ideas and claimed that they are the source.
Religion is just a method of control, not morality.

"Commitment to objective reality" what has that go to do with religion? Religion is the exact opposite, its a commitment to faith rather than reason or facts.

If you had real evidence (objective reality) there was a god, then faith would be unnecessary.

Read Romans, chapters 1 and 2 in the Bible.

You are talking to a someone who continues to support the murderous US military/mercenary beast, apparently whole heartedly and unreservedly, as a person who served it. THAT stands in DIRECT contradiction of what Yahusha/Jesus taught. I'd like to hear how he would attempt to justify his position with actual scripture. Show me where "self-defense" is in any way a model of action used by the military today, when it was rarely used justly over the thousands of years of human history we have. It is frustrating to hear people like this profess a love of the Bible and Jesus but miss the most basic principles. This is not how "Christians" believe, just the brain-washed "American Zionist Fundamentalists" who believe that "God" should and will "bless America!" after all we have done abroad and continue to do. You are an excellent interviewer by the way Zuby, I enjoy listening to your intelligent and eloquent discourse.
