Ok so.. we have the pivotal kitchen table talk link, and now the New York link.. as well as that one line about princess park. Not to be that person but that's a fair few "coincidences"...
Is this whole album gonna be about H or what?!

Am I the only one who thinks this song is related to Harry but not in a romantic way? I feel like he's talking to Harry about not letting the death of a loved one prevent him from moving on with his life. Louis himself struggled a lot to get out of the dark when his mum passed away, but he's always very positive and hopeful when he talks about her, as in I won't let it get me down and I'll move on with life for her. To me "Ever since New York" can only be about Robin and his illness, the lyrics are too clear to me (there's no antidote for this curse, must this hurt you just before you go, etc.) and that he probably found out about Robin being sick in New York (Brooklyn saw me empty at the news). We all agree that the line in New York here is linked to the one Harry sang, but how? Basically I think Louis is saying that Harry left a part of him in New York when he found out about Robin, as in he was never the same again. The "doing better" in the song to me is like "we're recovering, we're moving on from our respective tragedies". And then the whole song is Louis advising him to don't let the pain break his heart, that life is hard. The "when you love someone and they let you go" doesn't necessarily mean it's in romantic way, to me it's talking about the person going away, as in dying. That's just my interpretation obvs, just thought i'd put it out here!
