Those game cartridges were epic, not like the Nintendo Switch ones, they are so small that my 4 year old cousin almost swallowed one thinking it was a chocolate 🥶👍

This “ultimate” version of the Nintendo 64 is just as bizarre if not more so than the premise of the console itself. What we’ve first got here is a modernized game pad for the system, in one heck of a color that even a certain Bob Ross would be surprised by, then for good old player two, they get to use a wireless GameCube controller connected to the system itself with the joy of forwards-compatibility, giving player one a highly technical side bodyguard. (And normally, I would not allow accessories from different generations of consoles, but since the GameCube controller only has a token influence on the game outside of its added capabilities, I’ll allow it as an exception.)
The two controllers that detect movement similar to the Wii may seem odd considering the other two so far and that two of the same controller type was used here. But for one, since the two are identical, two players can play traditionally and even use the motion additions for games that benefit from or even require motion controls to play.
This even reveals the oddest aspect of this ultimate console of all: totaled up, one controller works similarly to a modern N64 controller with wireless functionality, with another using forwards-compatibility for a wireless GameCube controller for a more technical setup for player two. But the other two are identical to each other—which means for example in Smash 64, in the uncommon occurrence of three teams, one could use the regular modern N64 controller, another the wireless GC controller, and finally the third then would man the “regular” controllers with the tilt sensors, to put their dexterity with different controllers over the years with the same console to the test. Or they could participate in a co-op party game where they’d have to utilize each of their controllers’ unique aspects whilst maximizing their strengths and minimizing their weaknesses in order to beat the entire game.
All in all, well done to DKOldies for setting up such a strange, yet at the same time honorable marvel of vintage gaming to the table, especially for those who preferred play over flair and bought the N64 instead of the original Sony PlayStation having known it was originally the big “N’s” idea and Sony took it away from them (obviously, no shade on Sony or anything; they’re just as awesome as always).
