I made this short without some of the small details on this video to not bore anyone... I hope. This is my home made Cajon I made for less than$100 in just a few short nights, if you have any questions I will gladly try to answer them.... thanks for watching

Thanks and it does appear they are mounted the same however the left one as you are sitting on the cajon has a hanger bolt that has machine threads in the knob and wood threads in the wood rod for adjustment, the right side is all machine thread from the knob into the dowel rod, however the dowel rod was drilled from the side and I inserted a (cross dowel/ barrel nut), the machine screw moves freely in the wood rod but is secured in the dowel nut to allow the wood rod to be locked in place.

Hi! Great video and great work! I wanted to know...are the 2 knobs mounted in the same way? It seems that left one moves the rod and the right one locks it into place.

Your cajon sounds so good! What did you use to flatten out the section of the dowel to mount the snare wires? Radial arm saw?

Hey, just came across your video. Could explain your locking mechanism a little more?
In my understanding the left side has a hanger bolt that attaches the knob to the dowel. This allows for adjustment and movement of the snare. The right side has a dowel nut inside the dowel, and the knob which screws into the dowel nut locking it into place. Is that right? Or did I get it wrong?

hi there, just wondering how you attached the snare dampener? I thought you used a forstner at first but I don't think that's right seeing you attach it after its glued up
