DISCO MATANGA, in my opinion, was a very well thought out and skillfully packaged production that is not just entertaining but also educative. The various experiences of ordinary Kenyans' lives were well captured - conmanship, bribery, insider-job corruption, desperation, taking advantage of others (Ambutsi being taken advantage of), clash of Christian religion and African culture, clash of different African cultures, not taking in to account one's limits before embarking on a task (Nyamu takes old car to Vihiga and can't return it to Nairobi), NGOs and their projects, etc. You also showed that despite challenges, ordinary Kenyans find time to entertain themselves - the bullfighting event. And you did not forget to market the beauty of Vihiga and Kakamega in the drone shots (that bull fighting thing was shot in Kakamega I could tell). I loved it. The ending was excellently put together. It was not one of those straightforward type productions, from someplace west, of a prince in love with a poor girl that you can tell right from the start that the prince will marry the poor girl. It was a nice turning-of-tables ending. Excellent work my people. Most of the productions from the someplace west that are popular among Kenyans don't come close to this. I think.
