Here's one thing you need to understand: if it's easy and cheap you can't make money from it because everyone will pile in and competition will drive the profits down to zero (just ask people who drive for Uber). The most profitable businesses are always those that are difficult and expensive to get into precisely because there's so little competition (just ask any medical doctor).

Amazon is already flooded with low content stuff like journals and blank books. It will be difficult to make back the cost of the bookbolt subscription. You're capable of writing a high content book, you just need to decide what niche you're interested in.

I know CDs are more like an investment and you have to put money into them etc, which is not what you mean by passive income. But I love when the bank runs a higher rate for CDs temporarily as a promo, and I jump on it and get a thousand extra dollars each year for almost nothing, no fees, 5 minutes of setting it up on the bank's app.

Its kind of like music royalties, they trickle in slowly over time. The average musician doesn't get rich from royalties, but if you build up a catalog of songs you will get a passive income rolling in. It doesn't have the same low barrier of entry that the example you showed has, but it is accessible to anyone who makes an effort.

I'm sorry, but I have to call you out one this one. At first, I didn't understand the criteria that passive income must be something everybody can do. That has nothing to do with income being generated passively. When it's something everybody can do, per definition it's always something of very low value. In your example, those who actually makes a profit is the company that provides the book software, and of course Amazon. I mean, the book software company could easily just automate 10000 different notebooks and put them on Amazon. The reason why they don't is because it's better business for them if you buy a monthly subscription. And then I realized it: you have an affiliate link to bookbolt in the video description that you "forgot" to disclaim. So, the real passive income is not making low value notebooks that doesn't sell on Amazon. It's getting people to sign up with your affiliate link. And suddently the reasoning for your criteria that passive income has be to something everybody can do becomes clear.

1:27 If your spouse is financially supporting you or your ancestors left behind a trust that pays you a generous allowance monthly, those would be the only true forms of passive income. In essence, someone else would need to be covering your living expenses.

Al Bundy was supposed to be a shoe salesman barely making it. He was not college educated, and was the lone breadwinner - Peggy was a stay-at-home wife. He lived in a house in suburbia, I think somewhere in Illinois, that today goes for $400k+. Waayyyy beyond not only the income of a shoe salesman today, but out of reach of a college graduate in most white collar jobs. Even a dual income college educated couple would have to stretch to buy the home Al Bundy lived in.
