There is truth in this and it is also funny and ok to laugh, although many don’t realize there is also deep life behind it. Older Finns don’t care about fashion, because Finland was a poor country just 45 years ago and gone through much. It was important to get clothes and food at all and being like a peacock fancy pants was despised. Finnish media and some people always remembers to tell us how other Nordic countries are better than us in so many things, but it is a miracle that we are even comparable to them after the history. However nice try speaking Finnish and joking about things (with a good spirit) is a good thing : )
