So beautiful! Mahogany trees find their true purpose when they become guitars.

Hi, could you please tell me, which one do you prefer? 00028 or 00018?

I own a 000-18 MD, but can't play half as beautiful as you. Maybe someday,
It really is a fantastic guitar. What was the thickness (mm) of the pick you were using?

It's hard to beat this package of a 000-18. You couldn't spec one out of the custom shop and come close to these features for the money. You get a torrefied top, Hide Glue construction to the body and braces, Golden era carved braces, Wood binding, evo frets, Waverly tuners, fancy expensive bridge pins. Just the hide glue and golden era braces would bring you over this cost from the Custom Shop. I think this guitar is a great deal. Nicer neck than standard too.

i owned one for several months and dumped it. Carbon fiber and metal have no place on a guitar. With mics and digital equipment you can make anything sound like anything. martin has not made a playable production guitar since 1968. the MD hype is basd on the added volume the metal and carbon fiber add. In NO WAY does this sound like a vintage guitar. Brash loudness does not equate to vintage sweetness. And not all old guitar sound great. Any new martin will never sound "great" because Indian Rosewood is garbage. mahogany is always a better bet. My 63 J-50 Gibson is a great sounding guitar. My 1937 000-18 is a great sounding guitar. I give up on all the new crap, at ANY price. It isn't elitism, it's just reality. My first D-45 cost $900 new and it was gaudy and now they are even gaudier, and at $11, 000....what a rip-off. At least the old one's used good wood. At current prices i consider Martin the WORST guitar on the market. But an eastman or Takamine for 2 or 3 hundred. they sound just as good, if not better, and since martim makes the fattest widest necks on steel string acoustics, the cheaper guitar are MUCH easier to play. The 00018MD with the wierd asymetrical neck and 1 3/4 nut width, with it's extremely high action is unplayable. I had to have the luthier take the action down twice and change the saddle, and finally had to use 10 guage strings. That made a harsh flat unpleasant sound even worse. save the some bit coin ( I first heard of that when they were $1 per coin) or gold bullion....new guitars will NEVER be investment grade instruments.
