CHISI CHIEFS CORRUPT

Community members at Chisi Island in Zomba have expressed their anger against their chiefs who are corrupt when it comes to management of public works activities at the Island. The community members made their remarks during a day long awareness campaign on the Right to Development WORLEC and YONECO organized with funding from TILITONSE FUND. The two organizations are implementing a project in Zomba and Phalombe that is enhancing community capacity to demand public services from their duty bearers.

YONECO is a local, non-political, non-profit, non-governmental organization that was formed in September 1997 to address the social injustice, human rights, child delinquency and reproductive health issues affecting youth, women and children.
