Saramonic is fixing to end 2020 with a bang with its new and improved Blink 500 Pro B2. They've essentially addressed everything when it comes to the short comings of its predecessor. You now have an LCD screen on both the receiver and transmitter for system information, a battery life that lasts beyond the RODE GO, and to boot, they are giving you a portable charging case for when you're on the go, no need for a battery bank with 3 USB ports and cables!

Was literally about to pull the trigger on the double RODE's today, then you released this video, I think I'm sold on the Saramonics!

You kind of become my Leatherman multi-tool; I truly appreciate your systematic style and consistency. I always seem to receive the information I came for, thank you from me and from all the strong silent type who have not yet commented on your great content. Cheers Al

I’m sold on getting the saramonic kit. I was geared up for the rode wireless kit. The saramonic is the best deal for me. You can’t beat it. You get two mics and receiver. Plus you get a charging case perfect.

The Rode Wireless Go's are sold out everywhere.
I'm getting the Blink 500 Pro's RIGHT now thanks to this review

One thing to mention is the Rode has the in-unit record function, which was never an issue for me since I don't do separate audio/video recording. I chose the original Blink 2-person for our church video because it was $100 less than the Rode and I didn't need the record function. I was thrilled to see the new Blink Pro model, has all the right upgrades, and today was $70 off. I bought one for myself today. Yes, it is odd that they changed the on-unit charge port to USB micro from USB C on the original Blink. Not a deal breaker just a pain in the cable butt. Great review, thanks for this, liked and subscribed.

Saramonic is the best! I got UWMIC9 4 years ago, I got Blink500 b2 last year, and now looking at this real little dual mic masterpiece! Woaw! That micro usb is a bit weird. I wish somehow the headphone jack on the receiver could double as a third lav mic input so I could record myself behind the camera with a third wired lav when I interview two people at the same time. I have to always do realtime mic swaping among my interviewees in those situations which is a bit awkward. I want to know which lavs one could buy to upgrade the Blink 500 Pro's quality, if needed, is the lav quality the same as on my Blink500 or on my UWMIC9? It's the one thing I always kind of wonder about, if I should get other lavs (hopefully not too expensive ones) to upgrade the quality. Otherwise also I wonder what is the actual quality difference between my UWMIC9, Blink500 and Blink500 Pro, also I wonder what can be said of the quality difference between the Saramonics and a much more expensive dual wireless Sennheiser or Sony system. That charging case, I am so impressed, it is so brilliant. Yes one could attach (using gaffer tape or something) some kind of pouch to the side of that case it to transport all the cables, lavs and stuff. They fixed the battery, on Blink500 it's too short.

I agree with you. Wishing they had put the sound levels with db marks.

I think it's okay to mention this since B&H comes up on your affiliate link: Today only, Thursday, December 23, 2021, until midnight eastern time, B&H has the Blink Pro 2-person on sale for $229. An incredible deal.

the old blink 500 had a latency of 80 millisecond! thats a 2 frames late on a 25fps timeline, thats unacceptable! is the new pro better?

I'm still surprised that it took this long for companies to create something that can beat the Rode, this seems like a great set, sounds great, good review! Have you tried the new SYNCO G1(A2) already, that's really a budget wireless set but i'm curious how the quality compares to this set.

Hi, thanks for the painstaking tests through out!
Did you try the Audio-Technica System 10, also 2.4Ghz, dual antennas on camera receiver with the body pad transmitter Lav mic and handheld dynamic mic with built in transmitter?
It's worth comparing with the 2.4Ghz gears you tested
Thank you!
