For the confused people, this is an Ultima GTR from England assembled by Black Falcon Cars. The GTR comes in kit form or factory assembled. The newest model is the Ultima Evolution. The engine is LS based and NRE is probably using an LSX block for the foundation. This is not an old school SBC it is a LS based engine found for the first time in a 97 Corvette only (LS1 first year 345HP) and 98 and later Gm cars and trucks ranging from 4.8L to 7.0L .  Nelson Racing Engines is based in Sothern California. Look up turbo 5.3 build and see how cheap it is to get power out of this engine family.

Ultima GTR - 720HP, 990kg.
This GTR - 1750HP, 1300kg.

This is an Ultima GTR, based on a design by Lee Noble called the Ultima Sports. Made by Ultima Sports Ltd, in Hinckley, England.

Engines are usually from a company called American Speed, who make SBC's.

This one has an American V8 from Nelson Racing.

Gearbox is usually a Getrag G50 from Germany. Not sure what this one has, G50's can't handle that much torque.

So what's so Romanian about this car???

Wow! I've always been a big fan of the Ultima GTR and this surely has to be one of the best examples in the world. I wonder how much something like that would cost to build? And also, it'd be interesting to find out some more acceleration figures for it as I can't see 0-60 being much use in a car that light and with so much power. I bet its 60-100mph and 30-130mph etc. are astonishing.

I love this Ultima GTR with all of its power! My question is, how does the transmission stand up to that level of torque? Seems to me the trans in stock form would be over stressed under full throttle in any gear.

"The GTR was also used as a working prototype when McLaren developed their McLaren F1 super car. McLaren purchased 2 Ultima GTR kits to test and develop components for the F1 super car. The similar size and proportion of the kit allowed McLaren to test the monstrously powerful BMW V12 without having to bother with disguising the car. At the same time the size and proportions of the Ultima were similar to the then, forthcoming McLaren F1 car."

I would kill for this car. It's unimaginably fast.

I would be a little worried with the turbines open on the turbo. I guess they preferred more airflow to a little protection. It looks weird without any filters.
