I love it too. Kyle Alessandro largely wrote this song on his own, inspired by his mum who told him to keep his light burning in difficult times. She survived cancer treatment and is doing fine now. Adam Woods helped him produce his song.
I am cheering for him, 100%!

This song was wrote largely by himself with inspiration from wis mother who battled through cancer, is now healthy. "ill be my own lighter" comes from when his mother told him that he needs to find his inner light, when times are dark. Kyle also is very interested in norwegian middle age which you can see in the staging, the music and outfits :)

I love it, a lot of eurovision songs you can kinda tell they\re newbies or not really used to a big stage and audience but this guy it\s like he has been doing it for years, so talented, so much potential. If he does not win we know the game is rigged!!

It feels like Norway's entries has this underlying messaging to the jury. Like, we send songs representing our culture, and no matter how popular it gets with the audience, the Jury burys it. Then we had that "what the heck do you want from me?!" power ballad that seemed low key aimed at the jury, but the ESC got cancelled that year so we never got to send it. Then some more folklore/culture that everyone hated, it seemed (Gåte). And now this "well f* you then, I'll just play on my own" song. 😂 There seems to be this emotional roller coaster story playing out in our entries over the last years.
