Peter Roselle: Healing the Heart-Hardening Virus of Legalism (Mark 3:5)
Peter speaks at King of Kings Worship Center in Basking Ridge, NJ on 10/8/2023.
Text verse: Mark 3:5 Jesus was furious as He looked out over the crowd, and He was grieved by their hard hearts. Jesus: (to the man with the withered hand): So be it. Stretch out your hand. The man stretched forth his hand; and as he did, it was completely healed.

You have been “blessed to be a blessing.” (Genesis 12:2) Pay it forward!

Mark 3 (Voice)
1 On the Sabbath, Jesus had come into a synagogue where He saw a man with a withered hand.
2 The Pharisees held their breath: would Jesus cure this man on the Sabbath in front of everyone? If so, they could charge Him with breaking the Sabbath law.
3 Jesus knew their hearts. He called to the man with the withered hand.
3 Jesus: Come to Me.
4 Then He turned to the Pharisees with a question. Jesus: Do our laws tell us to do good or evil on the Sabbath? To save life, or to snuff it out? They remained silent.
5 Jesus was furious as He looked out over the crowd, and He was grieved by their hard hearts.
Jesus: (to the man with the withered hand): So be it. Stretch out your hand.
The man stretched forth his hand; and as he did, it was completely healed.

Ezekiel 36 (Voice)
26 I will plant a new heart and new spirit inside of you. I will take out your stubborn, stony heart and give you a willing, tender heart of flesh.
27 And I will put My Spirit inside of you and inspire you to live by My statutes and follow My laws.

Jeremiah 31 (Voice)
33 This is the kind of new covenant I will make with the people of Israel when those days are over. I will put My law within them. I will write it on their hearts. I will be their God, and they will be My people.

Luke 12
1 Jesus: Guard yourselves from the yeast that puffs up the Pharisees—hypocrisy, false appearance, trying to look better than you really are.

Amos 5 (Voice)
22 You can sacrifice your finest, fattest young animals as a peace offering, but I will not even look up.
23 Stop making that music for Me, it’s just noise. I will not listen to the melodies you play on the harp.
24 Here’s what I want: Let justice thunder down like a waterfall; let righteousness flow like a mighty river that never runs dry.

Isaiah 58 (MSG)
5 Do you think this is the kind of fast day I’m after: a day to show off humility? A day to put on a pious long face and parade around solemnly in black? Do you call that a fast day that I, God, would like?
6 This is the kind of fast day I’m after: to break the chains of injustice, get rid of exploitation in the workplace, free the oppressed, cancel debts.
7 What I’m interested in seeing you do is: sharing your food with the hungry, inviting the homeless poor into your homes, putting clothes on the shivering ill-clad, being available to your own families.
8 Do this and the lights will turn on, and your lives will turn around at once. Your righteousness will pave your way.

Matthew 5 – Kingdom Righteousness of the Heart
19-20 Those who practice the law and teach others how to live the law will be called great in the kingdom of heaven. For I tell you this: you will not enter the kingdom of heaven unless your righteousness goes deeper than the Pharisees’, even more righteous than the most learned learner of the law.

John 16 (Voice)
7 Jesus: "My departure will be a gift that will serve you well, because if I don’t leave, the great Helper will not come to your aid. When I leave, I will send Him to you.
8-9 When He arrives, He will uncover the sins of the world, expose unbelief as sin, and allow all to see their sins in the light of righteousness for the first time.
10-11 This new [self] awareness of righteousness is important because I am going to the Father, and will no longer be present with you. [He] will also carry My judgment because the one who rules in this world has already been defeated.
12 I have so much more to say, but you cannot absorb it right now.
13-15 The Spirit of truth will come and guide you in all truth. He will not speak His own words to you; He will speak what He hears, revealing to you the things to come and bringing glory to Me. The Spirit has unlimited access to Me, to all that I possess and know, just as everything the Father has is Mine.

Acts 10 (MSG)
1-3 There was a man named Cornelius who lived in Caesarea, captain of the Italian Guard. He was a thoroughly good man who led everyone in his house to live worshipfully before God, helping people in need, and who had the habit of prayer. One day at about 3:00 in the afternoon he had a vision.

What a great message! The point about 2000 demons not able to keep the mad man of Gadara from falling down to worship at the feet of Jesus… WOW!! ❤️‍🔥🙌🏼 all of this message spoke to me deeply.
