I have listened to the Allman Brothers for over 50 years. They are my favorite. The blonde guy Derek is the nephew of 1 of the drummers. I think you did very well with your comments. It was great seeing your reaction to their incredible music. I am fortunate to have seen them with the original lineup with Duane Allman and Berry Oakley before they passed away. Thank you very much for this video it really started my day off great ❤️

You have to listen to their live from the Fillmore East album from 1971

This is the last incarnation of the Allman Brothers, which lasted about 14-15 years
The original group with Duane, Allman, and Barry Oakley is the best you really want to get into at the Fillmore East you’ll hear some of the greatest guitar work you’ll ever hear in your life. The original band with the two drummers before they added the percussionist many years later, they never played the same thing. The black dude was a jazz drummer. The white dude was a rock drummer and they filled each other with perfection. All their stuff with the band being together a total of 45 years is great. I’ve seen them 15 times over the decades, still the best band I’ve ever seen all great musicians in every incarnation of the band

2 of the members of this iteration of ABB have their own bands and are definitely worth a listen, Derek Trucks has Tedeschi Trucks Band with his wife and Warren Hayes has Govt Mule, have a listen

The original Allman Brothers were a combination of Country, Blues, and a little Jazz to form Southern Rock. 2 of the best guitarists ever, 2 amazing drummers, and Gregg Allman. Check out "Whipping Post" live.

Me too, been listening since the debut album came out in 1969, I still remember my friend buying it the week of release after hearing about it on the radio, we crammed 6 of us in his bedroom and put it on, we were blown away by their new southern rock sound merged with twin guitar and twin drum excellence. Please listen to the studio original sometime, with a young Gregg Allman growling out those vocals and the original 2 guitarists (legends Duane Allman and Dickie Betts) are still in the band. The original band should be a no brainer when you can, do the song you just heard and their classic Whipping Post when you can, you will be a fan for life one you do. Enjoy! 🎵🎸🎤🎸🎹🎶

First saw em in Atlanta in 69 (?) Piedmont park. I was 9. Went with my older brother. Saw them numerous times after. Give Statesboro Blues a listen.

You need to listen to At Fillmore East, and experience the original band with Duane Allman & Berry Oakley for the true magic. This version of the band is great, but the original six were magic!

It is TWO songs. The first part of this is an instrumental of "Don't Want You No More" that segues into "Not My Cross to Bear."
That is not the original ABB.
Listen to them when Duane Allman, Dickey Betts, and Berry Oakley were with the band. This version is missing 3 of the original founding members.

I was 14 when I saw them in 1969 in Sarasota at the City Auditorium.
Had never heard of them and after about a half of a song (Don't Want You No More) I was freaking out over how good this already is and realized, " this is as good as it gets". This will be the best band I'm ever going to see. And I've seen Elvis, Zeppelin, Aero, G&R, Bowie, only Steely Dan were as good.

Please note this is two songs! The first, jazz instrumental is “Don’t want you no more” by Eddie Hardin and Spencer Davis. Then it wraps, beautifully into “Not my cross to bear” by the brothers

The original studio cut off the Allmans 1st album, is the one to listen to. When Berry and Duane were still alive.
