I just got a DJI Mavic Air 2 a few weeks ago as my first ever drone and I and passed the Part 107 exam two weeks ago with a 93%! I used the "Drone Pilot Ground School" (UAV Coach), which was fantastic. I've already used it for client photos - no videos yet, those are much harder. I wish I would have run across your videos before now, but better late than never. Keep up the great work, Carson! I've literally spent the whole day today watching your videos and I'm hooked!

It is a substantial upgrade from the original Mavic Air, but it should have had better battery life and Occusync from the beginning. Although with my money I'd rather put it into the Evo 2 8K which uses the same sensor but has many more capabilities (at a price however) Great video Carson!

The difference of "CIRCLE" quick shot is that it follows you if your subject moves. Let's say if you walk, the drone will follow you in circles (even the mini) and Helix does not follow you

Good preliminary review Carson. The specs are amazing. Might consider adding this to my drone fleet at some point in the future.
The deal breaker will be if I cannot use my iPad mini 4 with the controller. I have a device which I use with my 2Pro & Platinum, which puts the iPad mini above the controller. Tilt is adjustable, so I can see the screen much better, and don't have to drop my head so much, which puts a strain on the neck and body.
Look forward to your actual flight review of this new DJI product.

It would cost us 1600$ including taxes here in Canada for the Mavic Air 2 Flymore Combo...still a bit expensive compared to the 640$ including taxes I paid for Mavic Mini Flymore Combo. But it gets a lot more range and liability. Time to pile up some Canadian dollars then...

I have a honest question to ask? I have the gopro Karma. Bulky heavy drone. Still flys but I want to upgrade. The Air 2 looks interesting but expensive nearly 1000.00 bucks, I was looking at the combo. I dont really plan on flying 2 miles away from me no matter what drone I fly so i can understand their new ocusync technology. My question to you is if I went for the Mavic Air and not the #2 will I still get a solid drone who's app works enough for my new iPad mini to bring the drone home every time?

2 days ago I lost my Mavic mini into a small stream near my home. A min. Later I recovered and took the battery out and dried . I replace a new battery .. first only 2 lights light up and then nothing. Right now my mini rests in a bag of rice. I will keep you posted with the result.

If I can't fly fpv VR with my samsung goggles with samsung s8 plus, using the best Ive found, Litchi I dont want it, I dont want to squint at a phone screen in bright sunlight hardly see any cables nope for me VR is safer, you see everything, the battery, direction home etc...so Ill keep on flying wit the faithful mavic 2 zoom a bit bigger but a lot better, with more weight for the wind, upward sensor and almost the same battery life, plus the zoom

If you were to live in the UK like me, would you buy the Mavic Air 2 knowing it does not have the air sense built into the Uk models ?

A 1in sensor @ 20mp will have a better imagine with more dynamic range than a 1/2in sensor @48mp ' even a 1in sensor @12mp the image will look better with more dynamic range than a 1/2 sensor @48 mp . But I'm still buying the MA2 lol

Such high resolution makes it hard, no impossible, to attach even one photo in email when one just wants to share a view, got its content, not resolution higher than the viewing equipment can handle. Will the camera allow selecting lower resolution, like 12MB ?
