As someone from the UK who is currently on holiday in the US and went to Target to get school supplies can confirm this is accurate. In England I only had 1 pencil and a couple highlighters, now I literally have Willi Wonka's Chocolate Factory of stationary.

The British one is absolutely true, as a kid I wanted these very certain coloured pencils and I left school back in 2012, saw the pencils recently is Asda and literally the words “£4.50 for some coloured pencils that don’t even have coloured lead in?! Absolute piss take!” actually left my lips XD
