South Korean actor Yoo Ah-in sentenced to one year in jail for drug use

South Korean actor Yoo Ah-in was sentenced to one year in prison by the Seoul Central District Court on Tuesday (Sept 3) for repeated drug use.

The 37-year-old actor was accused of abusing propofol and other drugs 181 times between 2020 and 2022, disguised as cosmetic procedures.

He such a great actor and I really feel sorry for him.If the talent goes beyond the limit people might lose control and I think that is what happening to him.God should really help and he should once again come back to fill his place in cinema industry.

Damn he even got in trouble for using weed while in America. I'm sure majority of celebrities in the US, hell majority of American citizens would be locked up if our drug laws were enforce the way Korea's are. But believe it or not there are a few of us who has never used before beside babies/small kids.

If this was in the West everyone would blink and he would go to rehabilitation. The public are being denied of his talent. He should have sought help and ditched his boyfriend. Addiction is an illness. I hope he is doing drama classes when in the slammer and Sth Korea welcomes him back and doesn’t make an example of him. I am in my 60’s and only wish him well.

If he uses drugs but doesn't sell them, doesn't have a large amount but has them for his own use, he should only go to rehab. A person should be given a chance and not destroyed by prison. Besides, it turned out that first of all it was found that he smoked marijuana. Such a punishment is a huge exaggeration because this man was primarily harming himself. In Korea, people's lives are destroyed for any reason, it is a scandal to even be in a relationship and then cry because someone committed suicide.
