While a lot of medical coders work remotely, there is a TON that can be learned by watching with providers. AND because of the HUGE NEED for coders that are willing to work on-site and partner with their providers, these positions can often mean much 💲 higher pay! I am new to coding world. I have been a retail business owner for 30 years and now retired. I went with Career Step Online Medical Coding and Billing. I am preparing for my CPC exam 02/06/2021. I like the idea of shadowing. Would clinics or the offices in the hospital settings allow me to shadow before getting a job in the coding world. I've seen ALIFs, PLIFs, CABG, Heart caths, Gyn Onc surgery, Team trauma cases, and so many other fun cases. Highly recommend doing provider shadowing!

I'm in school for medical billing and coding, I'm suppose to do 40 hours of shadowing. I can't find anywhere near me that would allow it. Its so frustrating.

Having an opportunity to shadow a provider for the day would be incredible! I really hope that I’ll have a chance to do it someday; however, there will be no way of doing this until we are through the Covid crisis.

Hi...Can u pls share what notes can be noted in the CPT, ICD & HCPCS manuals ? Which notes are not allowed ?
Can we make a note of medical billing, abbreviation & some terminology?
