I've been using essential oils for about 10 yrs mostly 4 myself, skin care & 1st aid treatments, usually diluted with a carrier oil such as coconut, jojoba, apricot kernal, etc. I'm so😀that u r showing how to use them 4 dogs & other pets. Lavender was the 1st oil I ever used & it is still my favorite for the fragrance & ease of use in blends. I use 4 headaches a few drops of lavender, one or 2 of peppermint (very strong) mixed with apricot kernal, rubbed on my forehead, sides of my face & neck. It really works 4 me & I almost never use Tylenol anymore, being concerned about negative side effects. I use a vegan castile soap to wash my face & to shampoo, using it undiluted. Tulia is precious, I always enjoy seeing her!🐩

Lavender is great. I drove with the pups from the UK to Malta (in a big Jeep Grand Cherokee). I didn't want to give them any pills etc to keep them calm so I used lavender oil on the back of their necks and a little in a water spray on bedding. It worked miracles. I also use it if we are expecting fireworks etc.

I just LOVE Tula! I started using Lavender essential oil 30 years ago after a spinal injury to help deal with circulation and parasympathetic pain, known then as RSD (Reflex Sympathetic Distrophy). Since then I have learned from Norwegian medical studies lavender is used in burn wards...and I can testify that it takes the pain away, prevents blisters and scaring when used immediately after a bad burn. I use it for my dogs to keep fleas and mosquitoes off of them. It does help heal hot spots and infection when diluted in a carrier oil, vinegar, or simply water. It is wonderful for deodorizing and repelling insects in the house. Lavender is the first thing I reach for in my natural medicine cabinet. It can help sooth achy joints, head aches, and jangled nerves. Like anything, some can be allergic to Lavender, so use cautiously at first.

I always learn something from you and appreciate your holistic...traditional blend of veterinary care. I have looked for someone like you for years!
Do you have any tips for the care of eyes in aging dogs? I have 2 with fading vision.

Also is there a way to holistically prevent or reduce fat lumps in dogs? Our Akita mix has a fat lump under or between the ribs that is the size of 2 large fists, which our vet said bothers the dog. Yet she has no suggestions to treat or reduce it. He has developed at least 9 large fatty lumps from fist size to egg size. I put him on a product called Dissolve 5 months ago that claims to reduce or clear these lumps but it has not worked for us. He is on a GRAIN FREE diet, home cooked meals fortified with home made bone broth, vitamins, minerals, chondroitin, glucosamine, and salmon oil. He has a wonderful coat, healthy skin, but these fat lumps are disfiguring.

Just got my first puppy and happened to stumble across your channel and I’m so glad I did. Puppy is fantastic at sleeping through the night (even at 8 weeks old!) etc. However I LOVE essential oils especially lavender and I was worried this would be toxic for him. So glad I know that my pure lavender essential oil will make him feel even more at home, and I can continue to use it in my home 😌 have subscribed, can’t wait to see what you come out with next

I groom dogs, I use lavender often while grooming. I dilute a drop with a couple drops of carrier and put inside the tips of their ears…Good stuff!

My German Shepherd has respiratory fibrosis. He gets something like an asthma pump, through a mask, twice daily. On a bad day I place three drops of peppermint essential oil with some water in a burner. It really helps him a lot.

I wish the webinar was recorded so that we could look at it now. I didn't have a dog at that time but could benefit from the information now.

Re: coconut oil
I’ve been using fractionated
It is already in liquid form and doesn’t stain

I am a Vet Assistant and trying to broaden in learning of Essential Oils for some clients. I have one question: I was told in school Lavender and certain oils are bad and even deadly for cats. Is this 100% true in small amounts? Did they just mean the plant or fumes?

Edit: Here is what I was taught. Cats are sensitive to essential oils due to their heightened sense of smell and delicate skin. They are prone to toxic build-up for they can’t efficiently metabolize the compounds in essential oils.

Note: I have also physically seen a feline with toxic build-up due to a candle. It was peppermint which is toxic too.

Thanks for all the info you shared! Actually, my wife use to add lavander essent. oil into the water over our candle in the bedroom, it sets to sleep us and our Jack Russell Terrier.
I will follow your doses to make some shampoo for our JRT.
Thanks again for sharing.

Great video. I stick to Lavender from now on.Thinking what is ok for me is also good for my dog I once rubbed teatree oil in her gums. Teatree oil, especially undiluted, is toxic for dogs..she vomited soon after and thank God no further damage. Never again after I read that as little as 10 drops can kill a dog.

The vinegar needs to be used separately. It lowers the pH of the soap which you need high enough for cleansing. Also, it needs to be left on as a rinse to be effective. So mix 1 tsp vinegar to water then leave on after shampoo and condish. Will also make coat shiny. Same is true for people.

Your videos are super. I worked as a vet technician for years. I had rather work with this type of education instead of, here's a pill, what about we try a shot first. Well I'm sure you know all about this also. Thank you..
