I do not understand understand why something this important was deleted!  It was a bizarre 'cut in the film editing too -thought my DVR was messed up... something happened that i so unfortunate in this otherwise breathtaking  series. I am blown away by how love the master craftsmen put into the sets ... Thank you. and Thank you one and all, a privilege to watch.

I feel their pain. My parents were the age of Jamie and Claire in this episode when they lost who would've been my little brother. I was born in the late 70s and the second baby was supposed to be born a little over a year later but my mother had a late term miscarriage. It was so devastating they didn't even try to conceive again until 83.

When your kid dies as a baby, you'll never know what they would have been like. Would Faith grown to be as tall as her mom, would she been into science like the rest of her family or would she had no interest in college and found being a fighter more interesting? We will never know. One thing for sure growing up as a girl in the 1940's would have been way better then the 1740's.

I half wish this was kept in because it’s just so good. But we already have scenes fleshing out how angry and hurt she feels toward Jamie. Those feeling have been established and the arch is already moving towards forgiveness for him though the pain is still there. On the other hand her own guilt had not been established so we needed this scene to do all the work on that. There just isn’t enough space to hold both emotions well so it think it was a good choice to cut it.
