Even the Conservative Party in the UK favoured the privately owned SKY NEWS over the publicly owned BBC. I must clarify that access was not restricted to SKY only. All media houses had access but SKY NEWS got preferential treatment at times especially when it came to things like the govt having to announcing a new policy. It was clear that SKY NEWS always got the heads up first. If the situation in Ghana is identical to this then I don't think there is much to complain about.

I personally think if it is not a law, it is not important. We want the country to grow so State Owned or Private, what is wrong?

The world and digital media is evolving. If GBC can't keep with the trends even though equiped by the state, they should do their homework well.
Look at the difference in camera quality and graphics.

I'm trying to understand the issue.
Has GBC been forbidden from covering state events?
Has the press corps been disbanded or sidelined?
Is GBC being starved of resources while a private broadcast company is being illegitimately funded with state funds?
Overall, is there any law being breached (or even ethical concerns)?

I asked all these because the video provided no such info...and I'd be glad to learn the answers.
The closest clue I got from this video is that GBC is perhaps supposed to pick the feed from a private broadcast company and worse so, the feed comes with the private company's logo already on it. Is that the case?

Please help me to understand the issue at stake.
