Examining Germany’s brutal history in Namibia

Germany’s colonial history in Namibia was brief but brutal. A thirst for empires and land drove both the Herero and Nama people to the limit. Today, these events are recognized as a genocide. A controversial deal that recognizes the colonial-era genocide in Namibia was made in 2021. Germany doesn't want to renegotiate another deal.
