Owned the Bose QC35. Now I own these.. Long Story short... The Sony's sound better and do a better job at canceling 'noise'... Sold my Bose, and I'm happier now :) ... Good job Sony!

Just got my headphones today, at the airport decided to give them a shot. After a days worth of flights(10am to 7pI’m pleased with my purchase. Throughout the day I’ve been consistently surprised just using the cans in just base mode. Then on the last flight of the afternoon I watched a few YouTube reviews that opened up a whole new level of WOW. These are by far the best cans I’ve ever owned.

I've owned 3 pairs of Sony headphones over the last 4 years. The XB950BT, 1ABT & the original 1000Xs. Out of the 3 I think the 1ABTs sounded the best. I currently own the Audio Technica ATH-DSR9BTs & I'm pretty satisfied with them. Definitely more transparent than the original 1000Xs. If these use the same drivers as the 1ABTs then I might have to consider these.

I don't understand the love for Bose headphones. They've always been overrated. Sound canceling has always been good. But sound quality in my opinion has always been extremely underwhelming. And to say Sony has finally outdone Bose is incorrect. When the first version of these very headphones came out they already dethroned Bose.

Yeah my MX2 headphones are very solid. When I crank up my gaming laptop, the fans sound like a jet engine. This blanks out that sound almost completely.
