In this video I will show you how to Save Office Word Files to Local PC instead of OneDrive. This can be very frustrating when it keeps trying to save your files to one drive instead of your local computer hard drive.

Please keep making these, it’s frustrating when you can’t understand people due to a language barrier

Thanks for this video. I am new to Windows 11. When I open Word > File > Options, the page that displays has three checked boxes at the top. The topmost one says: AutoSave files stored in the cloud by default in Word. Do I uncheck this box or leave it checked? Is this the options that saves to the cloud every ten minutes?
Also HOW DO I SWITCH A DOCUMENT I SAVED TO ONE DRIVE BACK OVER TO THIS PC ? Thank you ~ Diane

Thanks for the tip. Really helped my cause because there are times when I am in a hurry and I think that I saved a file specific file to my PC, but then I try looking for it on my desktop, and its not there. It's in Onedrive, but I won't have to look there anymore.

There is no option tab on my new office 365, and I CANNOT get it to stop defaulting to one drive, which opens the document in word pad and is distorting my documents. I literally had to shut down one drive.

This video is not applicable for Office 365. It doesn't have the same GUIs and there is no "settings" option in the "file" pull down menu.

Does this work with a machine running Windows 10? Apparently not as the "options" option doesn't exist on the menu displayed when I click "file." Or is disabling One Drive not available to those using the free on-line Word . In either case, it would have been nice to know before spending several frustrating sessions over two days beating my head against a wall. I sometimes think much of the economy is driven by the earning power of all those computer savants at Microsoft and elsewhere who seem to specialize in complicating everything as much as possible.

Gereat I will try this
Like many others I want to control where my files are stored.
And with the Cloud it is possible to get confused.
I will try this, but it just seems to easy

Every time I hit auto save on my word it makes me select the one drive. This is extremely frustrating. I’ve lost work and then every time it’s saving it as a new version with a number in parentheses next to the title. Therefore not saving on my original document.

Thanks. They are bound and determined to make you dependent upon their cloud...

I've just raed the comments on this video.
And Like Others I have Office 365, so I looks like I wont be able to do it.

I think there will need to be an entry into the Registry to remove this option
